It all started in 2015 as a napkin idea with the desire to simplify copywriting processes for our in-house team and create better experiences. The vision was to create a copywriting software that will quantify any text’s quality of any text based on its ability to measure the emotional and sentiment impact. The idea was that if a text is rich with fitting emotions for its purpose of entertaining, informing, or convincing the reader of an idea, then that text would also be effective in achieving its goals as a blog post, sales letter, email, white paper, etc.
Having these ideas in mind, the initial build started in 2016 with the development of the sentiment and text complexity analyzer.

In 2017, we extended the app functionality to measure 5 basic emotions and added visualization of the emotions using spiderweb graphs and bar charts.

In 2018, the emotions analysis was extended from 5 to 6 emotions to fit closer to the copywriters’ needs to measure the motivational group of emotions.

2019 was when the heat map representations of the 6 emotions were added, helping the copywriters see how specific copy segments convey specific emotions. Sentiment visualization was also integrated to help copywriters see if the right sentiment dominates each section of their copy, especially for sales copywriting.

In 2020 we switched from the Laravel platform to .Net technology for a fresh rebuild of the software that now incorporates AI-powered analysis using 27 emotions organized in 8 groups. Changed the emotions and sentiment visualization to use more flexible css-based heat map rendering. Incorporated NLP systems from Google, Twitter, and Amazon to get context-sensitive emotions analysis. Added a Microsoft-powered learning algorithm to recognize facial expressions as specific emotions and overlay those emotions to the text, further improving the copywriters’ insight into how their text will affect the readers.

In 2021 was added a full-blown Copywriting Agency workflow and project management. Agencies can now create Clients, Projects, Texts, and assign Copywriters and Editors. Incorporated Focus Keyword placement analysis to help copywriters write texts with proper keyword placements for improved Google ranking. Built project management functionality using the Kanban methodology with internal deadlines for copywriters and editors. Incorporated editorial workflow with version control and Comments, enabling in-platform collaboration between copywriter and designated editor.
